COVID-19 Contact Tracing

The Ministry of Health will continue to trace people who have encountered anyone who has COVID-19.

Contact tracing centres have been implemented on all islands in The Bahamas with known cases of COVID-19.

The command centre for contact tracing centre for New Providence has been moved to the Melia hotel.

How contact tracing works

If people have COVID-19, the Ministry of Health requires them to disclose anyone they may have encountered to see if they have also been infected. This process is called contact tracing.

There are 2 types of contacts:

  • close contacts, and
  • casual contacts

The Ministry will give advice on what these persons need to do.

How you can help

You can help make contact tracing easier for health officials by continuing to keep a record of where you go and who you meet.
